I’m thrilled to announce the site redesign is currently finished, after quite a bit of hard work on my end! The new blog merges seamlessly with the rest of the site, and the website includes service offerings information and pricing, an event schedule, frequently asked questions, the METRO Virtual Fashion magazine (and ad rates), and an up-to-date model roster.

METRO Virtual Fashion (vol 2 issue 1) accepting advertisements

METRO Virtual Fashion will tentatively be published on the first or second week of March… and we’ll be bringing you some of our favourite things from the virtual world of fashion in Second Life! It’s promising to be another large issue with the beautiful high-quality fashion photography you’ve come to expect, and articles written by the models on what they’ve found on the grid to wear.

The current advertising rates are frozen for the March issue only! After this issue, we’ll be increasing them, so don’t hesitate to take opportunity of this fantastic offer… METRO Virtual Fashion’s ad rates are some of the most affordable you’ll find anywhere. Click here for more info.

We offer design services!

New Shoots II – deadline extension and entry submission changes

In the interests in showcasing new designer talent in the best way possible, we at Metro decided to extend the deadline to enter New Shoots to the original show date of January 25th, 2008, and to run the show in February. This will allow us to give a better show, with more preparation time.

Also, we have decided the 4 month rez date is simply too young. Fabulous new talent is missing out on a chance to win the showcase simply by being 4 or 5 months old. Therefore, New Shoots II is open to designers of apparel or accessories for either gender with a 6 month or younger rez date as of December 10th, 2007. This means to enter to be part of New Shoots, you should have a rez date after June 10th, 2007.

New Shoots is a great opportunity for new designers to get themselves out there. Read the entry rules at this previous post, and good luck!

The success of SHINE

Thanks to all the generousity of designers and customers alike, the grand total for the SHINE fundraising effort reached $2,100.48! This amount is currently being transferred into my account, after which I’ll write a personal cheque in that amount (whatever it comes to in CDN$) to Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders.

Metro Models expands with new staff members

2008 brings ambitious plans for the Metro Models organization, and it’s not always possible for just one person to fulfill them! We’re pleased to announce that Delilah Karas and CronoCloud Creeggan are joining Metro as official staff as well as continuing to model.

Delilah joins us as an Assistant Director and will be helping out with show coodination, business, and model development.

CronoCloud is our Staff Writer and will be contributing to marketing pieces, fashion show scripts, and blog entries.

Happy Holidays from METRO!

On behalf of the organization of Metro Models, happy holidays and happy new year!

Fall 2007 saw the creation of Metro Models, a selection process (that wasn’t easy at all!) to find our models, development of training workshops, building the Metro headquarters, New Shoots, Shine, and the creation of METRO Virtual Fashion. Phew! What a busy time!

Plans for 2008 include New Shoots II, portfolio development for our models, a partnership with 3 other leading fashion agencies for a special project, increasing our model roster with male models, increasing our staff, and of course the continued quarterly publication of METRO Virtual Fashion.

The prim version of METRO Virtual Fashion is finished and is available in world at various kiosk locations. Touch to receive your copy! You can get it at the Metro Event Stage.

To receive a kiosk for your own land, IM Alaska Metropolitan. The kiosk looks like a modern magazine rack and is only 4 prims.

METRO Virtual Fashion is out!

You can download issue #1 of our fashion book from the Metro Models website! Over 90 pages of in-world style. This issue contains features on WRONG, LeeZu Baxter, Savvy Avvy, Retro style, colour in jewelry, Lolita fashion, business couture, the colour black, and our special tribute to Ginny Talamasca’s fabulous fashion… and more! The fashion book will also be available shortly in world. Please IM me to get a vendor to distribute the fashion book on your land. We hope you enjoy the fashion book as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you!Update: Due to errors upon uploading textures, the in-world edition will not be out tonight (Thursday, December 13.)

A preview of what’s to come. Metro Virtual Fashion is scheduled for release tentatively for December 7th in ThInc Book format and online as a .pdf file.

The deadline for booking advertising space is November 30th, 2007. Please IM Alaska Metropolitan to book. Premium ad space is now sold out, and we offer full page ads for L$1700 only. Metro Virtual Fashion reserves the right to refuse ads (with payment refunded) that do not fit the quality standards or mandate of the publication. We offer design services if they are required.
